George the Tortoise visits Lamledge School
George, Laura’s tortoise, made a special visit to Lamledge School recently. While some students were already acquainted with George, many met him for the first time. It was an exciting and educational day for everyone involved.
Our students showed great courage and gentleness when interacting with George. For many, it was their first time holding or being close to a tortoise. This experience was particularly meaningful for those who love animals, as well as for students who had never had the opportunity to handle a live animal before.
At Lamledge School, we believe in providing our students with diverse experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Encounters like this one help our students learn about animal behaviour, empathy, and the importance of treating all creatures with respect and care. It also offers a hands-on learning experience that can spark curiosity and inspire a lifelong interest in wildlife and nature.
