Trauma Informed Practice
Lamledge School is committed to fostering a trauma-informed environment, recognising the profound impact that trauma can have on a student’s ability to learn and thrive. Our staff are trained to identify and support students who have experienced trauma, ensuring a safe and nurturing atmosphere where every child can feel secure and valued. This commitment to understanding and addressing the effects of trauma is integrated into all aspects of our educational approach, from classroom management to individualised support.
The language we use is key to being trauma informed. Language has the power to place blame on individuals and reinforce their negative self-concept (e.g. I’m bad and unlovable) as opposed to thinking about the wider context.
