Lamledge School Celebrates UK Parliament Week
Former MP David Wright Inspires Students at Lamledge School During UK Parliament Week On Monday, Lamledge School
We had a brilliant day on Friday celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Maths. We had a whole day of activities relating to those subjects. All of our students were able to get involved and found something they enjoyed. We even found a few competitive people amongst both staff and students.
We believe that if you make learning fun, you don’t feel like you are learning at all. We can honestly say that Friday was one of those days.
Drone racing and agility course

Recipe Challenge
Immersive Games
Science Experiments
The most popular activity of all was the penny boat challenge.
Challenge
Buoyancy is the fascinating principle of physics that allows objects to float in a fluid!
In this challenge you need to design and build a boat entirely out of tin foil, that can float and hold the maximum weight (number of pennies) possible without sinking.
Rules
You are only allowed 1 x 50x50cm sheets of tin foil to construct your boat.
You are not allowed to use any other materials to craft your boat.
You may use the internet to search for boat design inspiration.
You can deploy your boat into the water and add the pennies yourself.
You may have 2 tries at the challenge.
Your class teacher will adjudicate and note down results.
