We are pleased to welcome the second half of the Summer term, with plenty of opportunities ahead for our pupils to continue building confidence, independence, and positive relationships.
This half term focuses strongly on personal development, with a range of experiences built around our core values of respect, resilience, resourcefulness, integrity, gratitude, safety, and being kind and caring. These values are woven through everyday learning as well as wider enrichment activities.
To support this, we have developed our SMSC calendar for Summer 2. This gives a clear overview of the key themes, awareness events, and learning opportunities pupils will take part in over the coming weeks.
Across the half term, pupils will explore important topics including individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance, alongside wider global themes such as poverty, conflict, and citizenship. We will also recognise key events such as Refugee Week, Healthy Eating Week, and PRIDE Month, helping pupils to develop a broader understanding of the world around them.
There will also be a continued focus on safeguarding and real world awareness, ensuring pupils are supported to stay safe, make informed choices, and develop independence.
We are particularly looking forward to opportunities for community engagement, outdoor learning, and celebrating pupil achievements, including whole school events and fundraising activities.
