Visiting Telford AFC and meeting the Mayor!

Some of our keenest footballers visited AFC Telford Football Ground. They got to have a look around as well as play football on their 3G pitches. We aren’t sure who enjoyed it more though, the staff or students! 

As a surprise, the Mayor of Telford & Wrekin Ian Preece, came to say hello to our students. Ian is a Director of AFC Telford in his day job but he is also a Borough Councillor for Telford and Wrekin. In May he became the Town’s Mayor. We felt it would be a lovely surprise for our students to meet him in his official capacity. 

Despite Lamledge School being in Shropshire, we have strong local links with both Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. We are lucky to be in the middle of both and can give our students lots of experiences of our community. 

Who knows, one day, one of our students may play for one of our local teams!
